Strengthening the sustainable conservation of genetics resources by biodiversity data mobilizing in the forest reserve of southern and center of Benin Romaric Lokossou principalInvestigator Reforestation is one of the most important actions that can contribute to climate change mitigation. The development of the Project “10 million souls and 10 million trees” since 2012 is an expression of the political will to give a prominent place to reforestation. Indigenous species are prioritized in this policy due to their strong resilience and ability to adapt to changing ecosystems and climate change. Thus, this project “Strengthening the sustainable conservation of phytogenetics resources by biodiversity data mobilizing in the forest reserve of southern and center of Benin” will pursue the action of one of our previous projects entitled “Identification and Mapping of seedling plots for high quality seeds production within native stands in several forest reserve in south and center of Benin” by taking supports into it background and valorize it outcomes (meta biodiversity database). So It will help to valorize the collected data from the several seedling plots of value native species within the stands after extending the experimentation field to the whole southern and center of Benin. The database regarding the occurrence of the threatened value and native species lists will be updated, validated and published on GBIF website. Published actions as article, information meeting, poster and others type of publication and communication. That will fit with national priority of building meta-biodiversity database from performed studies to guide decision making for sustainable development. Gregarious forest stands in the southern and central of reserved forest of Benin Parallel layers, 1 km wide, were traversed on the 325 ° North azimuth. Sampling is stratified by gregarious stand types. Plots are systematically established whenever a targeted valuable indigenous gregarious stand is identified. However, the minimum distance between two plots is 100 m. The length of each assessment line is 5 km. Circular plots of 17m of radius have been installed. The data collected are the circumferences at reference height (1.3 m), the height at the first large branch and the total height of all individuals present on the plot.
