That list was elaborated from the available literature on birds and the status are according the Redlist of threatened species of Benin.

Project Data

The data mobilization is focused on bird species found in Benin. The main project activities are: (i) bird species data mobilization, which includes organization of meeting session on biodiversity data importance and their use, training sessions on data digitization and publishing, and digitization and publishing of bird occurrences using the spreadsheet of GBIF; (ii) application of biodiversity data for conservation, which includes training session on ecological niches modelling of species, identification of areas relevant for bird protection in Benin, and suggestion of strategies for bird species conservation in Benin.

Study Area Description Mobilization of data on bird species found in Benin.
Design Description The project aims to contribute to the conservation of bird species in Benin through the enhancement of data availability on these species. Two mains goals to achieve: Goal 1: Increase available biodiversity data - Raise of the awareness on the importance of biodiversity data for data holders and policy makers - Enhance capacity for data mobilization - Publish bird occurrence species - Establish a checklist of bird species found in Benin Goal 2: Apply biodiversity data in response to conservation priorities - Achieve the current and potential ecological niche of two threatened bird species in the context of global change - Identification of areas of importance for birds conservation and suggestion of measures for conservation
